Indian Epic UnTextbook

The book that I decided to review for this week is Bengal Fairy Tales by F. B. Bradley-Birt. I chose this book because I read a really wonderful story by a student this week that featured a story from a different Bengal Fairy Tales unit in the UnTextbook. So, I was interested in learning more about these stories and reading them for myself!

The specific story that I chose to read was, "Jackal, The School Master." I chose this specific story because I once read a story about a Jackal in an earlier endeavor with the UnTextbook, and really enjoyed it.

I was not disappointed with this story, at all! It was so good! I liked the entire plot. It moved quickly enough to keep me engaged the whole time, and was also easy to follow and understand. This story is definitely written in British English, so I am thankful that I have been living in India and can make sense of most of the words! I think that the majority of people will enjoy this book. This story was located on pages 186-190.

I decided to go right through with the reading to the next story. This story is titled, "Humility Rewarded and Pride Punished." This story was located on pages 191-195.

This story was also really interesting! I liked it and feel as though future readers will enjoy this as well. The story teaches a great lesson and is one that runs deep in Indian culture.

I think this book will be a great addition to the Indian Epics UnTextbook!
