So first off, Ganga just drowns her children? That still throws me off. I don't understand that. This book definitely has a beginning that I will not forget.
And as I read on, I feel that way about the whole first chapter. Indian epics are very sensual, eh? I think it's kind of annoying. Another annoying thing would have to be the names that the author's pick for these books. I really appreciate different names, but I have to replace 99% of these in my head, otherwise I get so confused.
I thought the whole part about Madri joining her husband on the funeral pyre was interesting. I wonder why she did it. I think this would be a good story to write this week.
So, Arjuna ends up stringing a bow and shooting a target to win his bride. Is this in every epic novel? I think so. Apparently this is a very popular way to win a bride. Also, I am thrown for a loop at the fact that Draupadi WANTED 5 husbands! Why??? That is just madness.
