Overview of Indian Epics

This seems all a little overwhelming to me, mainly because I know nothing about Indian culture and literary works, but I am excited to learn! I have listened to some Indian music, and also watched a film or two, both of which I have enjoyed!

This is one of my favorite sequences from a bollywood movie, titled "Dilwane Dulhania La Jayenge."


I will be spending this semester in South Asia, so I am excited to see how this all plays into my learning the culture and how the experience helps me in my writing. For the most part, I am interested in the musical culture of India, as well as their religious practices.

    Oh, thank you, Dakota, for including the video: perfect! And YES, being in South Asia is going to let you have a class experience so different from the rest of us back here in the U.S. I am really looking forward to seeing what connections you can make between the world of the old epics and the world you will be traveling in this semester!
