Indian Epic UnTextbook

The book that I decided to review for the UnTextbook was Twenty Jataka Tales by Noor Inayat Khan. I read the stories The Great Elephant and The Noble Horse. The Great Elephant is on pages 108-110 and The Noble Horse is on pages135-138. I chose this book because it was the first one that popped up when I clicked on the link to review books, but I was not disappointed! I found the book really interesting, because the two stories that I read were about animals sacrificing themselves for humans. I find that really interesting and how that plays into Hindu culture. For them, many animals are noble and I can see why. It gives me better cultural insight into what they think as far as animals go. I know this is not the only reason why they honor animals, but it is one of them! I liked both of the stories that I read. There really wasn't anything that I disliked about the book!

The writing style of the book was excellent and easily understood. I think this would be a unit that I would really enjoy if it were included in the course listing. I think that future students will really enjoy this book!
