Well, I can't believe it is already time to do a review week! We are halfway through the semester. Thank goodness. The reading for this class has come in waves for me. For parts of it I really enjoyed it. For other parts, I really disliked it. My least favorite reading was probably Buck's Ramayana. This is also because I am not a huge proponent of reading the same story twice if I don't particularly enjoy it the first time. So, I was glad to have the option to move on to another reading. My favorite reading this semester came when we got to choose from the UnTextbook. I chose the Indian Fairy Tales unit, and I was really not disappointed!
As I look back over my reading diaries, I can see the weeks where I was stretched a little thin and other weeks where I really got into the reading. But, all in all, the reading diaries help me to recall what I have already read!
I think that my overall favorite story from this whole semester is The Tiger, the Brahman, and the Jackal. That story is so funny! It cracked me up. What I am noticing about myself is that I tend to enjoy the readings more when I can pick them myself. Maybe we are all that way!
